Summary
I am a designer, artist, technologist, consultant, open web advocate and open source evangelist who is looking to help people to integrate technology effectively in order to live, work, and learn better.
My mission is to help people to share my enthusiasm and appreciation for technology. I want people to see technology as an equal tool to other methodologies, to see past differences in platform and version to the larger picture of usability, and to realize that the key to gaining insight into – and power over – any given technology lies in the willingness and courage to ‘break’ that technology.

Professional Experience

I currently work for Rider University as the Manager of Instructional Technology. I am part of the leadership of Rider University OIT. I manage several major systems on campus, including the Content Management System (RedDot), the Learning Management System (Blackboard), the Main Web Server ( http://www.rider.edu which runs Apache on Linux), several project servers for Instructional Technology, A streaming media system that utilizes the Real Helix system with additional (mostly open source) media streaming products, and several other instructional technology initiatives. I manage a team of student workers and a full time instructional technologist, and work closely as a liaison to some groups on campus, like Academic Affairs, Rider faculty and Enrollment Management, amongst others.. Manage Media workflows and Servers, streaming services, and internet broadcasts. Faculty Development in technology and teaching strategy integration through training sessions and seminars. Front line of faculty technology support at Rider. Instructional Technology Consultant for the Center for Innovative Instruction. New technology research, discovery and implementation.

I have built and managed a consultancy focusing on design, computing, and organizational management. Early on in this work, I was mostly doing home and small business visits for network setups, computer repair, imaging and other level 2-3 support tasks. More recently, the bulk of this work has been in speaking, presenting, and teaching about open source software and design skills. Other tasks and responsibilities include design, prepress, layout, and brand advising. Consulting clients about effective social media habits and organizational leadership and development are what I am focusing on for the near future.
